Cross It Off The Bucket List

I don’t know how many of you have a bucket list of things you want to do before you “kick the bucket”, but my list is really pretty short.  Just three things:  Visit 49 of the 50 states (sorry Hawaii, but you do nothing for me), learn to make cannoli (even though I’ve never even eaten one) and learn to sew.  Okay, I take that back, there are 4 things.  I’d really love to have pretty cabinet doors made by my husband, but that’s kinda not in my ability to do.  Back to my first bucket list.  Today, I do believe I can officially cross “learn to sew” off.

Yesterday my schedule was pretty free, so I decided to tackle dress #2 from my pile of fabric earlier in the week.  This particular fabric, I picked out and requested 5 year old approval instead of vice versa.  Yeah, while the dress yesterday was very cute, this one is much more sophisticated and my super favorite!!

A mere 2 1/2 hours later, this adorable little dress was the result.  Yes, I do believe I can say I have learned to sew.  No seam ripping out, no ugly uneven seams.  Just sweet adorableness.  And I’m feeling especially proud of myself because I’m making these with my el cheapo $49 Black Friday sewing machine.  Someday I’ll have a real sewing machine, but this one is working so I guess I shall be prudent and accept that.

The silly little princess even took some of the scraps and made a hair “pretty” for herself.  She made a rosette also!  A girl after my own heart.  Yes!

I just adore bare toes and dresses.  Delightfulness.okanogangirl25okanogangirl26
