VICTORY!!

Well, I'm home safe & sound after a very good dental experience! Who would have believed I'd say that!!!

My tooth is fixed & I'm happy! Still can't really chew anything until tomorrow though, and my gum is very tender. But all in all, it was a pretty good dental experience. And the best part was i did it without any additional drugs! I decided it was just time to toughen up, so I did!

I set my mind to it this morning that I would go and be fine. And it was a good reminder of two things: first, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13, and secondly, mind over matter! Really put your mind to it and you can succeed! (And looking forward to that Pumpkin Spice Latte when I was done was helpful).

And as promised, I have a little giveaway. Well, two. One is scrappy, one is a piece of jewelry. Leave a comment about a time you put "mind over matter" and succeeded!!! (I'll leave it open until Sunday).

And lastly, I just can't have a blog post without a picture! Here's another digital layout I did over the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Well, I survived day one, BUT this could still be it....

.....because I have to go back tomorrow! Tomorrow at 10 a.m. Fun fun! But at least the dentist was plenty calm when he looked at it, so it doesn't appear to be anything tragic. Yes, I'm incredibly anxious about the dentist!

But the worst part, they don't have N2O. What??? Oh, that's not good. Well, I will be bringing my iPod and blasting it! Although the cool thing is they have this awesome creek behind the building with tall windows so you can watch. There were about 7 ducks swimming around, so that was very relaxing to watch. Sadly, most of the time, I'll just be looking at the ceiling!

Okay - on to something more, um, joyful!.....

Did a few digi LOs the last week or so. Here is another one I did using Shabby Princess supplies with pictures from the Fair a couple weeks ago.

This might be my last blog post....

I broke a tooth today.....and I have to go to the dentist for an emergency visit tomorrow. So, if I die a tragic death due to dental anxiety while I'm in the chair tomorrow, I bid a farewell to you all, my fabulous readers!

But, if I survive to live another day, I might just have to do a prize. Come back tomorrow to find out the conclusion to my saga!!

Well, on a serious note, I had a digital page to upload, but I can't get it to upload! I've had all sorts of techincal trouble lately. I promise I will try again tomorrow (assuming I survive the dentist!)

Using a Digital Template

It's a perfect day to sit in front of the cozy fire and do some digital scrapbooking while Robert is watching football. I like to listen to football, but unless the Seahawks are playing well, I don't enjoy just watching too much.

And since it's a perfectly blustery day, and my back is hurting, it sounded like a great idea.

I used a template from Designer Digitals and the i love coffee kit from Little Dreamer Designs and this is what I came up with! Pictures from Friday when my Mom and Aunt came for lunch.

Rain on a metal roof....

is one of my favorite sounds. And it just started raining, again.
Makes me want to open all the windows so I can hear it better.

I don't have much to share today, except for a link to a new website.
Fantastic tutorials for design, Stuff Designers Do. I think it was geared
to web design, but it could translate very well to scrapbook pages.

A Home For A Princess

Aly makes me laugh. When we bought her a new pair of sandals this summer, she was just as enthralled with the box as the shoes.

I looked on the couch shortly after and saw this:

Science 101

Cody loves doing science experiments. This day we were making explosions using baking soda and vinegar. It was actually pretty fun to put vinegar in a baggie, fold a paper towel up with baking soda. Then put that in the bag, making sure to hold it out of the vinegar. Seal the bag. Shake it up and drop it (of course, be sure to be outside). Watch the bag grow then explode.

Cody, being all boy, thought it was awesome!

Mr. Giggles

We were in the car a while back and Cody started talking about how Grandpa calls him Mr. Giggles. I knew instantly I had to do a page about it. I had this picture of Cody & my dad and didn't know what to do with it.

His words were my inspiration. As he was sitting in the back seat just giggling talking about how Grandpa calls him Mr. Giggles.

Love your twinkle

I had a few random pictures of Aly. Not really enough to tell a story by themselves.

Thus, I put them together. I used Cosmo Cricket supplies.

My Artist

I love these flower trims by Dear Lizzy & American Crafts. I showed a teaser of this page a few weeks back, but didn't get another photo until now!

Mod Podge Journal

I made a journal a while ago and then in the midst of a conversation, I was asked to teach a group of ladies to make them as well. I figured I should do a few more practice to be sure I had it down.

This is a journal I did for our teaching plans/what we did for homeschooling.

Modge Podge is now my favorite thing! If you put it on in a few layers, you can even cover three dimensional flowers like these Primas!

How did I manage to never use mod podge

until recently?? I guess it's that I've always avoided messy things. But this mess is worth it!

I've been modge podging everything. I've got a few projects to share later, but today, what we use it for is puzzles. After the kids put together the puzzle, we modge podge it and put it on the wall. Cheaper wall art than posters, and then we don't lose puzzle pieces!

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

In my book, all days from Sept 1 to the New Year are the most wonderful time of the year. I absolutely love fall. It's my most favorite time of the year. Although, as Cody corrected me this morning, I have two favorites. Knowing I really like winter as well (at least up on my mountain kind of winter), I told him it was a very close call, but I think fall eeks out the win. I may say something different come December, but for today, it's Fall.

So imagine my delight when on Wednesday I received an e-mail from Starbucks saying the Pumpkin Lattes have arrived! Oh dear......My most favorite drink too!!

We had to celebrate Thursday with one. We made a trip to Chelan for work and of course, the kids and I made a trip to Starbucks.

I had an idea for a page in my head, but I needed a picture. So I handed the camera to Cody. Have to say, for being 5, he took a pretty good picture. I must be training him well. ;)

Last week-ish I made a card with part of the Simple Stories ele.ment.ary kit. Simple, but enough.
I really like the kit, although I don't think quite as much as the first. I'll be taking this one much more out of context. My kids have just started school, and I know I will not use it for the next 12 years to finish out. However, if you are just starting, or trying to catch up on pictures of your kids as they are older and nearly graduated, it would be awesome! But I know me, and I know that if I were to use the same kit for one page every year for twelve years, I'd be bored out of my mind with it! LOL

Delight

Thank goodness for auto posting! My blog was abandoned for a few days because my computer crashed. Fortunately, I had nearly everything backed up. But it still is time consuming to transfer all the files to a new computer. I think I'm done now though :)

I thought I'd share a happy page. How can you not be happy looking at this patterned paper?

Supplies: Basic Grey paper, Pink Paisley alpha, Little Yellow Bicycle sticker.

Best Friends

My kids are best friends. They love each other (yes, they have their moments when they want to kill each other, but most of the time, they love each other). They don't like to be apart. When they are, they ask for each other.

I think it's so special, and I hope they maintain this special relationship. I've done several pages about it, but here's another.

Supplies: October afternoon (paper, strips, stickers), My Minds Eye (ticket dies), My Little Shoebox (ledger stickers), misc cardstock & buttons

Counting Waterfalls

September already? I love fall. Really. I'm happy.

When I was a kid everytime we'd drive to Bellingham, we'd count waterfalls along the freeway. It wasn't very often, but I remember it so happily.

Back in June, we drove over the North Cascades Highway back to Sedro-Woolley. Spring had been cool and wet, so there were still a lot of big waterfalls along the roadway from both rain and snowmelt. As practice for Cody counting to 100, we started counting waterfalls.

It reminded me of my childhood, so I had to take a picture of a waterfall (from the moving car) to do a layout that showed a connection between my childhood and my kids.

Supplies: Patterned paper My Minds Eye, Alpha stickers, My Little Shoebox & Jenny Bowlin, border punches, American crafts cardstock
