MemoryWorks Blog Hop

Welcome all Blog Hoppers!! Welcome to my little corner of cyberspace.

A few weeks ago we moved into my new scrap cabin! I know, I know, I have the life ;)...♥...Anyway, in a search for decorations I thought a banner would be super cute to put up.

I liked it so much, I thought I'd share it with you instead!

I used a new product line by Pink Paislee. It's a very yummy line called Bayberry Cottage. It was probably my favorite line they released this spring. Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage 6x6 Pad, or More Pink Paislee. It's a perfect balance of elegant flourishes and bright colors with a little bit of modern thrown in. I could just eat it! Well, probably not, I think it would taste like paper...

So, I'm going to giveaway this cute little banner. All you have to do is leave a comment (please include your e-mail so I can notify the winner). I'll randomly select a winner Monday evening. (please, US residents only).

And an exciting announcement for those of you who already are my "fans" (ha- yeah right.....LOL).....I now have a personal MemoryWorks website so you can shop online! Come Shop with Me!!

My other favorite product from MemoryWorks (this is exclusive) is Simple Stories. I love the colors and the patterns. In fact, I love it so much I still just look at it and haven't put it all to use!! Yup, I'm pathetic. I need to order another kit so I can use one and still look at one. LOL! :) Shop Simple Stories

Oh.My.Goodness.....THANK YOU CK & SPONSORS

About a month ago now I entered a contest on Club CK for National Scrapbook Day.

Well, I won. I was delightfully surprised. Was looking forward to it, but didn't have too high of hopes.

UNTIL it arrived today!!! I couldn't BELIEVE how much was in my prize box!!! YAY!!!

I have pulled out two separate piles and will do a Pay It Forward Giveaway on Tuesday (tomorrow through Monday is the MemoryWorks Blog hop).

She Does

What a happy day it was when Aly discovered that snow would not make her melt, or freeze, or break, or whatever her abnormal fear was...

Twirling Dress Kind of Sassy

This morning, while getting Aly dressed, she was especially sassy. I pulled out this dress that she'd only worn a couple of times, and wanted her to wear it because it's getting too small. I very excitedly talked her into it because it was "a big pretty twirling dress."

She approved. Mom - 1, Aly - 0....Yay!!!

After putting it on her head, she immediately changed her mind.

Mom - 1, Aly - 1....okay, we're still tied.

Let's go brush your hair. Okay, but not wet Mom. So we tried putting a towel over her shoulders to keep her leave-in conditioner off her and just on her hair. It worked!

Mom - 2, Aly - 1. It's looking good.....

Brushed her hair, put in hair gel. Oh, no. Made a fatal error here. I bought some new gel for curly hair. Nope, not gonna happen. Have to use mousse in the purple bottle. Ugh...... so to squeeze out the last little bit.

Mom -2, Aly - 2. back to a tie...... But at least the hair looks good (and yes, I spend much more time on her hair (money too), than on mine......)

But here is where the morning goes downhill.......she still wants to change clothes. Obviously, the hair distraction didn't work.

Mom -2, Aly - 3. Oh no, I'm behind.....

Okay, Aly, we'll change your dress if you let me take some pictures. Good.

Mom - 3, Aly - 3. Back on even turf....

Doesn't last long though.....cooperation ?? What's that???

Yeah, well you can see from the pictures:

But in the end, I'm still calling it a tie. While the pictures weren't pretty like I wanted, I'll be able to use them just fine to torment her with when she's a teenager. And then when she has her own kids and complains about how sassy they are...well, I'll be able to say I know where she gets it from. Which by the way, her dad tells me all the time. But I think he's wrong....
You know, looking at these photos, which are SO her, I'm going to call the victory for me!!!

Border Punch Technique

I was inspired by Beth (carkaraokequeen) over on the Club CK board to try a new technique. I'd seen how much she'd used it and I really liked it.

Using your border punch, punch two strips of complimenting papers. Then layer to desired affect (can be quite a few different way).

Here's a simple LO of it in practice.

Remember to come back on Friday for the blog hop!

Another Newborn Shoot

I had the privelege of doing another newborn photoshoot last night. Must say, I'm not a baby person (at all), but I'm loving working with newborns!

This first one is my favorite of the shoot, because it's a little more artistic and different. Love it!

A first for everything

Well, there's a first for everything, right?

I stitch on my LOs often, but I'm never very picky about it. On this one though, I tried to stitch the two pieces of patterned paper so it looks like I stitched them together instead of just adhesive.

Supplies: WRMK
And be sure to come back next weekend! I will be participating in my FIRST blog hop! I'm very exited. A special project & giveaway are in store!

More Catch Up

I've been trying to work through my stack of photos from Sept 2009-the end of the year. I *think* I've nearly finished them. So here's a couple LOs to show you what I've been busy doing.

My New Scrap Space

A little over a week ago, I inherited a new scrap space. And oh, was I ever excited!!! There's still a bit to be done (like cabinet doors, but I'm not holding my breath, we've been living in our house almost 3 years and I still don't have any in my kitchen....LOL...it's the standing joke around here, there's always something else more pressing to be done (or money to be spent elsewhere).

The only decoration I've completed thus far (and yup, it was by mistake, I bought the curtain rod too small to fit the window, but couldn't take it back since I already opened it! Oops!)

When I get a few more things done (like the curtains up with a new curtain rod, I'll do a little video of more indepth).
Thanks for stopping by!

More 4x6 LOs

My motto in scrapbooking is to get it done. That's just me. I'm simple. I'm pretty simple in most aspects of my life. So for the most part I keep my LOs simple as well.

Here's a couple more pages with uncropped 4x6 photos.

Enjoy Life

A page made of a few of my favorite things (of course pictures of my kids!). But also, I used a border punch, thickers and the Making Memories ledger type alphas. Ahh.....these are a few of my favorite things....okay...I'll spare you with my horrible singing!

Thanks for stopping by!
