Color Color Color

First (since I accidentally loaded this picture first), I made a really yummy pasta dish tonight. I ate it warm, but I think after it cooled, it was much yummier. Lots of fresh super foods in it! Gotta love that!

box orzo pasta (cooked & drained)
1 avacado (chopped)
1 small cucumber (chopped)
1 tomato (chopped)
juice of lemon (use half first, then add more if desired)
handful chopped cilantro (finely chopped)
handful chopped spinach (finely chopped)
dash of salt
crumbled reduced fat feta cheese on top

The kids & I went out for a hike yesterday. We took our cameras and took lots of pictures of the wildflowers that were blooming.

These were all on our property (or adjoining properties since I wasn't really watching where we were walking).

Cody sitting on a rock (in case you couldn't tell! LOL!)
See that yellow line in the distance? That's a field of canola. They're experimenting growing it here to make bio-diesel.

I'm amazed by the absoulety tiny flowers. The delicacy is amazing.

some new fun

Lately Cody's been asking all the time to do something "we've never done before." Well, we did that yesterday! A day full of playgrounds (2 of them were new to us), yummy coffee & cookies, and the carnival. Here's the pictures!

Today is our 10th anniversary. I can't believe it's been 10 years already, ten! So many changes, so much is still the same!

This is what I woke up to this morning. A bouquet of fresh wildflowers and a very special note (and a clean house! He cleaned after I went to bed last night - gotta love that!)

10 years ago today (horsedrawn carriage ride in Seattle, WA)

We had a great day. Had planned to go run errands and have fun as a family, then drop the kids off at a friends house to go get dinner. But before that we took the kids to the carnival. Well, bad planning on our part, led to a change of plans because the carnival wasn't open yet! So we took the kids to the playground, to waste some time, then to the carnival.

My favorite way to spend a day, with my family, doing fun stuff, having a coffee and a treat, and of course, snapping pictures the whole time. (those will come tomorrow! LOL!)

Thank You Album

For the last two weeks, I'd been working on an album for my son's preschool teacher who was moving away. Unfortunately, I only took pictures as an afterthought, so they aren't the greatest, but I wanted to share them, and to share the cool thing I did for some hidden journaling at the end.

I've made a little video about the cover that I will share next week.

I made these little magnetic closures to hide some notes from each of the parents. It was really easy, I have a tutorial I'll show next week as well.

I had to take a picture of these birds today. They are all around, and are the funniest sounding critters. They make all sorts of different noises and are just plain goofy. But they have a beautiful yellow chest. They are all over our property right now picking up the leftover corn all our critters have left.
